Mukhadram: Taking his racing very well
Mukhadram could bid for Group-race compensation in the Sky Bet York Stakes on the Knavesmire on July 27 following two fine efforts in defeat at the top level.
The ultimate objective for the Sheikh Hamdan Al Maktoum-owned colt is the Dubai World Cup next March, but in the meantime big races nearer home remain on the agenda.
And the Group Two in Newmarket-based trainer William Haggas's native Yorkshire is likely to be the next target for Mukhadram following his unlucky run when third to Al Kazeem in the Coral-Eclipse at Sandown on Saturday.
He had previously just been touched off by the same horse in the Prince of Wales's Stakes at Royal Ascot.
"He seems to be all right and he might go for the Sky Bet Stakes at York at the end of the month," Haggas told At The Races.
"If he runs well in that or wins that he might go for the Juddmonte (at York in August). We don't want to milk him but he is taking his racing very well at the moment.
"He's always been a good horse - maybe I've kept him hidden for this long, but it looks as though he's getting better.
"The Dubai World Cup would be Sheikh Hamdan's dream and our dream too to have a decent horse running in a race of that quality for him."
