Eoin Morgan: Relaxed about favourite's tag
Eoin Morgan believes England can handle the favourite's tag when the Ashes get underway in Nottingham on Wednesday.
The hosts are aiming for a third straight Ashes win and are strong 2/5 favourites with Sky Bet to achieve their goal.
While Morgan accepts this gives the squad confidence, he knows current form will go out of the window once the action begins at Trent Bridge.
The England one-day specialist told Sky Sports: "Being favourites gives the guys a lot of confidence. They know how good they are and how they have performed over the last few years.
"You have got some fantastic cricketers in a fantastic side and they have handled pressure really well and hopefully will continue to do that throughout the summer. So they will be quite relaxed about it.
"They know once tomorrow comes, as with every Ashes series, form goes out the window and favouritism goes out the window.
"They will look to get off to a good start or at least if things get off to a bad start to stay in the game and hopefully wait till the chance arises to take that chance through the five days and go and perform."
Australia sacked coach Mickey Arthur 16 days before the start of the series and replaced him with Darren Lehmann. Morgan is not sure how this will play out.
"Obviously given what has happened in the last weeks and months regarding the coaching staff can take a lot of pressure off the guys and give them a free spirit to go out and play the way they want, so it can work both ways and obviously we won't find out till tomorrow how things go."
