Alun-Wyn Jones: Honoured to lead the Lions
New British and Irish Lions captain Alun-Wyn Jones has admitted it was "a special moment" when he was asked to lead the side.
The Wales and Ospreys lock takes over the reins from Sam Warburton, whose tour was ended prematurely by a hamstring injury.
And Jones can't wait to lead the side out for Saturday's decider against Australia at the ANZ Stadium in Sydney.
"Hopefully, I've been selected for the way I play and not necessarily the way I lead, it's as simple as that," said Jones.
"To be selected in the position I am for the final Test is a pretty special moment for me, but obviously there's still a job to do."
O'Driscoll dropped from Lions squad
Jones has previously skippered the Ospreys, while he has had limited experience leading Wales.
However with Warburton, Paul O'Connell and Brian O'Driscoll remaining on the tour, and a number of senior players to call upon, Jones has plenty of experience to turn to in the build-up to the final Test.
"There's always room for advice," he said. "But I've done quite a lot with the Ospreys this season and once with Wales in the past during the Six Nations. I'm fortunate to have been captained by some great men as well.
"Throughout the years you take a little bit of the best from the men above you and hopefully they add to some of the leadership qualities I've got."
