Graeme Horne: Is out for revenge when Hull KR meet Salford on Sunday

Hull KR's Graeme Horne says his side will be out for revenge when they meet Salford on Sunday after they snatched defeat from the jaws of victory in their previous encounter this season.

Rovers had led 34-14 in the second period but collapsed dramatically to allow the City Reds to win the game 38-34.

Horne admits that he and his team-mates will be seeking payback in the return fixture at New Craven Park and will not be making the same mistakes again.

"It's safe to say we won't be making the same mistakes on Sunday as we did at their place"

"We owe Salford and ourselves for what happened earlier this season," Horne told the Hull Daily Mail.

"That is a game we should never have let slip, especially as they were struggling to get a win.

"We were leading by 20 points and we blew it. That was the lowest of our lows this season.

"If we had won that game, we'd be a step closer to cementing our place in the play-offs now. It's safe to say we won't be making the same mistakes on Sunday as we did at their place."

Play-offs

Four successive wins see Rovers in sixth place in the Super League table and 13 points better off than their opponents this weekend.

A win could see Craig Sandercock's men move to within a point of third-placed Leeds but Horne is loath to predict where his side will end the season, despite their recent good form.

"I wouldn't like to say where we could finish, our aim is to play in the play-offs," he said.

"We have some tough games coming up and the sooner we can make sure we are in the top eight, the better. We are finding form at just the right time.

"It's hard to say how many wins we need to cement our place, but we'll be going out to win them all.

"If we can keep our recent form going, we'll all be happy."

Having played through the pain barrier in the win at St Helens last time out, Horne confirmed he will be fine to play against Salford after overcoming a dislocated finger and a back injury.
