Sam Warburton says that British and Irish Lions must quickly pick themselves up and focus on next weekend's decider against Australia.

The Lions suffered late heartbreak in Melbourne, Adam Ashley-Cooper crossing for a converted try with five minutes remaining and Leigh Halfpenny missing a long-range penalty in the final play of the game.

But skipper Warburton says they cannot afford to dwell on the 16-15 defeat for long and starting preparing for next Saturday's decider in Sydney.

"We're going through what Australia went through last week," said the flanker. "It is disappointing but the lads will wake up tomorrow and realise that there's still a Test series up for grabs.

"We're definitely capable of winning this series; we've shown that in the two games against Australia. It's going to be won by a whisker next week and I hope it's us."

Warburton admitted the Lions struggled to get their hands on the ball in the second half, particularly in the closing stages as the Wallabies pushed for a match-winning score.

"Australia got a hold on us," he said. "They got some territory inside our 22 and we found it difficult to get out. That's something you work on in training but when you're under extreme pressure it's easier said than done. Territory is everything in games like this."

Warburton had to be helped off the pitch late on with a hamstring injury but he remains hopeful of featuring in the third Test and leading the Lions to a first series win since 1997.

"We can still achieve our dream. I know people are disappointed with today's result but it's game on for next week."
