Finn has stepped into the England squad to replace Bresnan
England have selected Steven Finn to deputise for Tim Bresnan in Wednesday's ICC Champions Trophy semi-final with South Africa at The Oval.
Yorkshire's Bresnan, 28, has been on standby for the birth of his first child since the start of the competition and left the team camp on Tuesday to be with his pregnant wife.
That means that Finn, who has taken 54 wickets from his 34 ODIs to date, steps into the squad and may well make the XI that will take on the Proteas for a place in the final.

Bresnan said ahead of the tournament: "We're being really flexible and playing it by ear,' he said. 'The first one, it usually goes over - but who knows? If I'm on the field, I'm not sure there's much I can do about that.
"I'm just going to have to play the game out as usual and hope the labour is going to be long enough for me to get there.
"The manager will let me know - from the balcony. Then I'll drop my shopping, hope I've bowled my 10 overs and then sprint off, jump in the car with my spikes on."
In England's three group games, Bresnan contributed 27 runs and four wickets as the hosts edged to the top of Group A for a place in the last four.
