Richard Hibbard scores a try against Combined Country XV
British and Irish Lions hooker Richard Hibbard is confident the squad has much more to offer after their latest Australia tour game proved a mismatch.
The Lions crushed a Combined Country XV 64-0 at Hunter Stadium without remotely threatening to hit top gear.
Despite a second-half display punctuated by errors, mostly of the handling variety, they visitors still scored 10 tries, including a double for wing George North.
"Hats off to them, they really defended for their lives," the Wales international said.
"There were a lot of positives in the first-half. We let a few tries slip in the second half, which is very disappointing.
"We could have really put it to them. They showed character and defended for their lives."
Hibbard insists no one in the pool is getting carried away, and he expects Lions coach Warren Gatland will be quick to remind the players they have much work to do.
"Obviously he is going to be a little disappointed with the second-half performance," Hibbard added. "So he should be. There is so much more to come from us.
"You never like to let a few tries slip, and there were concentration lapses, but we know there is a hell of a lot more to come from us."
