Lee Dickson: Encouraged by nature of victory over Argentina

Northampton scrum-half Lee Dickson was encouraged by the attacking mindset adopted by England in their 32-3 victory over Argentina as they cut loose in Salta.

Stuart Lancaster's side had scored just one try in their previous four meetings going into Saturday's game but they managed four tries against the Pumas.

The sides meet again in Buenos Aries this Saturday and Dickson admits the side are more prepared to go on the offensive than in previous matches.

"There were a lot of great moments. The players we have get so excited just as soon as the turnover comes along," he said.

"I think it is a different mindset. I think it showed in the Six Nations, because you can't just keep kicking possession back to good teams.

"Argentina are a very good team. We've got the skill set and mentality because all our forwards can carry the ball.

"If it's on to run it, we will run it. But we also got a good balance and Freddie (Burns) kicked a couple of times for the corner which was spot on."

Dickson was keen to praise attacking skills coach Mike Catt for the change in emphasis which has seen England's finishing power improve markedly.

"Catty is brilliant in training. He just wants players to express themselves," added Dickson.

"The backline we have got - he encourages players to off-load the ball to get out of tackles.

"I think he's gone back to basics. It's all about execution. I think it showed that our passing was brilliant at times."
