Alex Corbisiero: Arrives in Brisbane

Alex Corbisiero has arrived in Brisbane after a "whirlwind" journey to team up with the British and Irish Lions.

Corbisiero had been in Argentina with the England squad when received the call from the Lions to provide cover for Cian Healy.

However it hasn't been a straightforward trip, with the Northampton-bound loosehead leaving his team-mates in Salta and travelling to Buenos Aires, Santiago in Chile, Auckland and Sydney before finally arriving in Brisbane.

Corbisiero, tough, is relishing the chance to be involved with the Lions - who have also lost Gethin Jenkins through injury.

Privileged

"It was a long journey but I'm not complaining - I would do it again just to be here," said Corbisiero.

"You never like to come in for anyone who is injured and I feel for Cian and Gethin but I just feel so privileged to be given this opportunity.

"It's been a bit of a whirlwind afternoon meeting everyone and I'm looking forward to going to the game tonight and then getting down to training.

"I also want to wish England all the best against Argentina today."
