Hampshire have completed the signing of Pakistan international all-rounder Sohail Tanvir.

Tanvir has been given the all-clear to join his team-mates later this week after receiving the necessary paperwork from the Pakistan Cricket Board.

The left-armer will add experience to the Hampshire squad as he has made 50 appearances for Pakistan in one-day internationals and played in 123 twenty20 matches since his debut in 2004.

Tanvir played alongside Hampshire batsman Neil McKenzie for the Highveld Lions this year and helped them win this year's South-African twenty20 competition.

The 28-year-old has also excelled in the longer format, with four First-Class hundreds to his name, and has taken over 250 First-Class wickets at an average of 24.

Hampshire Manager, Giles White said: "Sohail brings experience to the squad across all formats of the game and his all-round talents are a welcome addition ahead of an important phase of the season."
