Thanasis Papazoglou's agent has told Sky Sports that the Greek striker is prepared to consider a move to England amid reports Charlton Athletic have shown an interest.

The 25-year-old former Greece Under 21 international is being tracked by several clubs in England after his eight goals this season helped OFI Crete escape relegation.

Papazoglou's performances saw him named in the Greek Super League's Team of the Season and he is now believed to be keen on moving to England.

His agent Paschalis Tountouris refused to confirm that Charlton are among the teams to have scouted him over the last few months but he does expect Papazoglou to leave Crete this summer.

"There are English clubs who are interested but we can't say which ones at this moment," he told Sky Sports.

"He's had a great season and now would be the right time to consider a move to a stronger league. We will have to see what offers are on the table over the next few weeks."

Papazoglou, who stands at 6ft 4in, has been compared to England striker Andy Carroll in his homeland. He was part of the Greece side which lost to Spain in the final of the European Under 19 Championship back in 2007.

Charlton are in the market for a new striker after releasing Ricardo Fuller earlier this month, while Bradley Wright-Phillips and Danny Haynes are also tipped to move on.
