Scott Dureau will make his long-awaited return to the Catalan Dragons squad on Saturday in the first game of Magic Weekend.

The talented scrum-half has been out since last September when a routine eye test found a tumour behind his eye that was surgically removed in Australia in January.

Dureau, who was named in the Super League Dream Team in his first two seasons with the French club, cleared his final hurdle at the Rangueil Hospital in Toulouse on Tuesday when he was passed fit by neurological surgeons.

"I'm very happy," said Dureau, who will be returning against the London Broncos. "It's obviously really good news. I was waiting for that decision for a long time.

"The last five months since the surgery have been very long. I can't wait to be back on the field with my team-mates."

Dragons coach Laurent Frayssinous added: "This is great news for Scott. He went through some very difficult times and he worked hard to come back as soon as possible. He deserves this quick return."
