Jamie Smith and Tonderai Chavhanga are among a number of players leaving the Newport-Gwent Dragons this summer.

Irish full-back Smith had an injury-plagued spell at Rodney Parade, making only four appearances in the last two years, and similar ill fortune befell popular South Africa wing Chavhanga.

Centre Andy Tuilagi departs at the end of an 18-month spell in South Wales, along with back-row Hywel Stoddart and lock Josh Tyler, whose contracts were allowed to expire.

No 8 Tom Brown has agreed a move to Jersey in the English Championship and prop Dan Watchurst has retired at the age of 23 after a series of injuries.

"We thank all the players for their efforts throughout their time with the region and wish them all the best for the challenges that lie ahead," said director of rugby Robert Beale.

The Dragons have already made plenty of moves ahead of the 2013-14 season with six signings made including former Wales international duo Richie Rees and Rhys Thomas.

Fijian back row forward Netani Talei, South African lock Martin Muller, Argentina prop Tetaz Chapparo and Italy fly-half Kris Burton are also arriving over the summer.
