Michael Klinger made 163 before Gloucestershire were forced to settle for a draw in the rain-ruined LV= County Championship match with Hampshire at Bristol.
Resuming on 131 Klinger helped his side achieve maximum batting points before declaring their first innings on 400-4, a lead of 126, shortly after lunch.
The visitors closing on 120-4, Michael Roberts making 44, as Gloucestershire took 11 points from an impressive all-round display, while Hampshire collected six from a below-par effort.
The hosts resumed on 284-2, with a lead of 10, and were soon looking for quick runs - Alex Gidman (66) reaching his half-century off 56 balls, with five fours and two sixes, while Klinger reached his 150, having faced 241 deliveries and hit 16 fours and two sixes.
Hampshire finally broke the partnership of 109 when Klinger was caught behind driving at James Tomlinson to end an innings spanning five hours and 18 minutes.
Lunch was taken at 378-4 and as soon as Will Gidman brought up the 400 Klinger declared with a possible 61 overs left in the day.
Gidman had not been expected to bowl after injuring an ankle in the first innings, but he opened the attack with disastrous consequences, pulling up after his second ball.
With wicketkeeper Cameron Herring suffering from conjunctivitis, Hamish Marshall feeling the effects of a stomach bug and Jack Taylor injured in the warm-up, Gloucestershire had four substitutes on the pitch once Gidman departed.
The players shook hands at 5.30pm after Benny Howell (2-15) claimed the wickets of Jimmy Adams and Liam Dawson against his old club.
