Wigan scrum-half Matty Smith is set to miss Sunday's Tetley's Challenge Cup-tie fifth-round at Hull KR.

Smith, one of only three-ever presents for the Warriors this season, is struggling to overcome a shoulder injury sustained in last Friday's 46-6 Super League win over Salford.

Warriors coach Shaun Wane said on Thursday: "Matty hasn't trained today so it is unlikely he will be ready for the weekend but we will wait and see.

"If he doesn't play, I have a few options up my sleeve, including Sam Powell and Sean O'Loughlin playing there. It is not 100% yet that Matty won't play but it is unlikely.

"Nothing will change if Matty doesn't make it, our structures stay the same."
