Kurtley Beale: Has been 'stood down' by the Rebels

Troubled Australia back Kurtley Beale has been 'stood down' following another breach of club discipline.

Beale had made a try-scoring return to action in the 39-33 loss to the Chiefs, with the 24-year-old having spent four weeks on the sidelines for clashing with his team-mates during the tour to South Africa.

Beale had punched Gareth Delve and Cooper Vuna on a night out and he agreed to undertake a period of rehabilitation with the Rebels and the Australian Rugby Union.

However Beale will now miss the Super Rugby encounter with the Blues after his latest setback following the game with the Chiefs.

A statement from the Rebels read: "Following discussions between the Rebels and the ARU it has been agreed that Kurtley Beale will be stood down from playing in this weekend's match against the Blues in Auckland.

"Kurtley has breached behavioural guidelines that were set by the ARU, Rebels, and RUPA, which were agreed to in full by Kurtley.

"The relevant parties will meet to discuss any future course of action in relation to Kurtley."

Beale's hopes of facing the British and Irish Lions in the three-Test series now hang in the balance.
