Cup holders Hampshire continued their strong start in the Yorkshire Bank 40 with a five-wicket victory over Scotland in Southampton.

Fresh from thrashing Essex in their opening game on Friday, Jimmy Adams' men chased down a target of 193 with 15 balls to spare.

Scotland had posted a total of 192-7 after being asked to bat, mainly thanks to skipper Preston Mommsen's 60 not out.

Seamers David Balcombe (2-28) and Chris Wood (2-45) each picked up two wickets.

Hampshire were grateful to half-centuries from Adams (51) and Liam Dawson (54no) after they had been reduced to 78-4.

Dawson and Adam Wheater (35no) saw Hampshire over the winning line in the 38th over with a sixth-wicket stand of 64 from 54 balls.
