Captain Michael Klinger hit an unbeaten century as Gloucestershire chased down a target of 188 to clinch a nine-wicket win over Leicestershire at Grace Road.
Australian Klinger finished up with 103 not out as the visitors, who had resumed on the final morning on 16 without loss, cruised over the finishing line in the afternoon to pick up 21 points.
The Gloucestershire skipper combined with fellow opener Chris Dent to put on 129 for the first wicket before the latter was trapped lbw by Jigar Naik for a well-made 71.
Dent had earlier been dropped at slip by Josh Cobb off the bowling of Naik, who eventually got his man with the last ball before the lunch break. shortly after reaching his half-century.
But Leicestershire had always needed more than just the one wicket in the opening session if they were to have any chance of avoiding a first loss in Division Two this year.
Pacemen Ollie Freckingham and Robbie Williams did make it an uncomfortable opening half-hour for Gloucestershire's top two, but both bowlers went unrewarded on a sluggish pitch.
Klinger hit spinner Claude Henderson for a straight six before square cutting another boundary off Shiv Thakor to reach his first ton in the LV= County Championship.
Dan Housego was at the other end when victory was sealed on 16 not out; He played second fiddle to his batting partner in an unbroken alliance of 62.
