Clermont have suffered a setback in their preparations for Saturday's Heineken Cup semi-final against Munster with captain Aurelien Rougerie ruled out.

The talismanic France centre tore a thigh muscle in the Top 14 victory over Toulouse.

Clermont, though, have plenty of strength-in-depth to call upon, with Benson Stanley and Regan King battling it out to replace Rougerie.

Clermont are also hoping Brock James will be fit to solve their fly-half crisis.

Clermont had been hoping to play 'medical joker' Mike Delany in the No 10 jersey however the former All Black is ineligible.

James, who hasn't play for the past month due to a thigh injury, has now returned to training.
