Jordany Valdespin hit a walk-off grand slam in the 10th as the New York Mets rallied to beat the Los Angeles Dodgers 7-3.

Trailing by one in the ninth, David Wright hit an RBI single with two outs to take the game into extras, sparing starter Matt Harvey his first loss of the season, and Valdespin did the business in style off Mets reliever Josh Wall.

Matt Kemp had put the Dodgers in control by driving in all three of their runs including a two-run homer, his first long ball of the season.

Alex Cobb pitched 8 1/3 scoreless innings to lift the Tampa Bay Rays to a 3-0 victory over the New York Yankees.

Cobb allowed three hits, striking out seven and walking one, as he claimed his third win of the season and inflicted a first loss on Yankees starter Andy Pettitte. Sean Rodriguez homered for the Rays, while Ben Zobrist drove in a pair.

Stephen Drew hit a two-run triple to help the Boston Red Sox rebound from their horror show against Oakland with a 6-5 win over the Athletics, while the Chicago White Sox claimed their first win in five as a two-run homer from Alex Rios helped them to a 3-2 victory over the Cleveland Indians.

Tim Hudson was denied his 200th career win as the Colorado Rockies rallied to beat the Atlanta Braves 6-5 in 12 innings, while Stephen Strasburg suffered his fourth straight defeat as the St Louis Cardinals beat the Washington Nationals 4-2.

Brandon Laird drove in four runs and was one of four Houston players to go yard as they beat the Seattle Mariners 10-3, while pinch hitter Will Nieves drove in the winning run with a sacrifice fly in the 10th as the Arizona Diamondbacks beat the San Francisco Giants 3-2.

Nelson Cruz and Lance Berkman both homered as the Texas Rangers eased to an 11-3 victory over the Los Angeles Angels, Mat Latos hurled seven-plus scoreless innings to lead the Cincinnati Reds to a 1-0 win over the Chicago Cubs, while the Detroit Tigers beat the Kansas City Royals 7-5.

The Toronto Blue Jays beat the Baltimore Orioles 6-5 in the 11th, the Pittsburgh Pirates saw off the Philadelphia Phillies 5-3 and the San Diego Padres edged out the Milwaukee Brewers 2-1.
