Munster have confirmed Doug Howlett and Donncha O'Callaghan will miss Saturday's Heineken Cup semi-final clash with Clermont.

Munster had already lost the services of Stephen Archer through injury and now experienced duo Howlett and O'Callaghan have been ruled out.

Former All Blacks full-back Howlett has a shoulder injury, while O'Callaghan has been sidelined with a knee complaint.

Coach Rob Penney also has doubts over Ireland internationals Peter O'Mahony (foot) and Keith Earls (shoulder) ahead of the trip to Montpellier.
