ATP Bucharest: Fifth seed Florian Mayer sees off Flavio Cipolla

Florian Mayer: up and running at the ATP Bucharest on Tuesday
German fifth seed Florian Mayer made a positive start at the BRD Nastase Tiriac Trophy in Bucharest after beating Flavio Cipolla.
The 2011 champion was too strong for his Italian opponent, winning 6-0 7-6 (7/1) in 85 minutes.
Jarkko Nieminen was also a winner on Tuesday, coming from a set down to overcome Evgeny Donskoy 1-6 6-4 7-6 (7/3). The Finn will face defending champion Gilles Simon in the second round.
Local favourite Victor Hanescu won his clash with Matthias Bachinger 6-4 6-4, while Sergiy Stakhovsky bested fellow qualifier Jaroslav Pospisil 6-2 6-2.
Belgian Xavier Malisse was beaten 6-1 6-2 by Santiago Giraldo, while Germany's Tobias Kamke was a 6-1 6-3 winner against Paul-Henri Mathieu.
Lukas Rosol, the man who famously beat Rafael Nadal at Wimbledon, ousted Gilles Muller 7-6 (7/4) 6-2.
There were also first-round triumphs for Guillermo Garcia-Lopez and Gael Monfils.
Garcia-Lopez saw off Horacio Zeballos 3-6 6-4 6-0, while Monfils beat Filippo Volandri 6-4 6-2.
