Wigan have confirmed that Lee Mossop and Gareth Hock will join NRL side Parramatta at the end of the current Super League season.

Prop-forward Mossop and second row Hock, who is currently on loan at Widnes, have both agreed two-year deals with the Eels with the option for a further year.

Wigan have revealed that they will receive a "substantial six-figure transfer fee for each player and have the option to "re-sign (them) at a defined salary for two/three years, dependent on time spent playing in Australia, when and if they choose to return to Super League."

Wigan owner and chairman Ian Lenagan told the official club website: "The NRL is an attraction currently for quality English players not only financially but also so that the players can challenge themselves in another top rugby league competition.

Excellent

"The Wigan club is in a strong position to benefit from the excellent experience a player will have gained whilst away in the NRL but is also uniquely able to replace the player from within the Club's own successful Wigan and Wales production line of young talent or from other sources."

"This special agreement with Parramatta allows us to start to do exactly that."

Mossop added: "This is perfect timing for me to play in the NRL with an ambitious and growing club, having hopefully played for England in the World Cup first.

"I am really excited about this agreement with the Eels but will be delighted to return to Wigan in a couple of season's time.

"I'm looking forward to the rest of this season and will do all I can to try and help Wigan win as many games as possible and more silverware in Super League and Challenge Cup before I leave."
