Jenson Button and Sergio Perez have held clear-the-air talks following their on-track clash at the Bahrain GP.

The two McLaren drivers banged wheels as they jousted for position during Sunday's race, with Perez at one stage hitting the back of his team-mate's car.

An unhappy Button subsequently described Perez's driving as "too aggressive", "dangerous" and "dirty", but harmony within the McLaren team appears to have been restored following a private meeting on Monday.

"Important chat yesterday with Checo Perez to clear the air," Button reported via his twitter account. "As a team we will move forward and live to fight another day. Roll on Barcelona."

Button v Perez - How the battle unfolded

The spat between with Perez and Button overshadowed another disappointing performance from the team in the desert. Although the young Mexican, who replaced Lewis Hamilton at the turn of the year alongside Button, secured his best result in six months as he brought the troublesome MP4-28 home in sixth, the 2009 title winner struggled for pace and finished a modest tenth.

In the Constructors' Championship, McLaren are already almost one hundred points behind World Champions Red Bull after just four races this season.

A suite of upgrades designed to cure the MP4-28's acute deficiencies are in the pipeline for next month's Spanish GP - an event which has already assumed a make-or-break billing for the Woking outfit this season.
