London Irish have confirmed the signing of utility back Myles Dorrian on a two-year deal from Exeter Chiefs.

Versatile Dorrian, who is currently on loan at Championship club Bedford Blues, can play at fly-half, centre or full back.

The 30-year-old, who was born in Sydney and spent time with the Brumbies and Waratahs in his native Australia, made nine appearances for Exeter during his spell with the club.

"I have enjoyed playing at Exeter and coming back to Bedford towards the back end of this season; but it is time for a new test and London Irish is a great place to take on this new challenge."

London Irish director of rugby Brian Smith said: "I've followed Myles' career since he was at the Brumbies with Pat Phibbs. He's a seasoned professional with a great attitude and work ethic.

"Myles understands the game and has the ability to make things happen and he'll provide even more experience as a play caller."

Dorrian said: "I'm looking forward to linking up with London Irish next season.

Exeter head coach Rob Baxter said: "Myles has been an outstanding and popular member of the squad for the past two seasons.

"Obviously his chances - particularly in the Premiership - have been somewhat limited with us, but whenever he has been asked to perform for the first team, he has done it with great credit and has always given top quality performances.

"All the coaches and the players have really enjoyed working with Myles and throughout his time with us he has always worked flat out and been enthusiastic in everything he has done.

"On behalf of everyone at the club we'd like to thank Myles for all of his efforts and we wish him well in the next step of his career at London Irish."
