QPR 1-1 Wigan: Rangers deserved win, says Chris Coleman

QPR were denied a deserved victory - and one they desperately needed - by Shaun Maloney's dramatic injury-time equaliser for Wigan, says Wales boss Chris Coleman.

Dangerous
Phillips was confounded by Zamora's afternoon's work for very different reasons. The England forward was sent off after 20 minutes when he stretched for the ball but instead connected with the head of Jordi Gomez, leaving the Spanish midfielder needing treatment. Referee Phil Dowd sent Zamora off after consulting his assistant, Scott Ledger, and Phillips said that was the only possible outcome. "I'd have to say that Phil Dowd was left with no option but to send Bobby off," said Phillips. "I'm not sure what Bobby was thinking but there was no danger. He was nowhere near the ball. "It's unlike him. I've played against him many times over the years and it's not in his make-up. But he is so late, it's unbelievable. "Phil Dowd has tried to let play go on and the linesman hasn't flagged but Phil's been called over and I think you can see the assistant say 'it's a red'. "When you see it from the angles that we have, it is dangerous play. Bobby could have injured him seriously and from then QPR's backs are against the wall, which is exactly what they didn't need." Coleman echoed those sentiments, adding: "I totally agree with Kevin. Phil Dowd doesn't want to send any player off but when it is that blatant he has no option. Bobby is not a dirty player but he got it wrong."
