Bradford winger Jamie Foster says he cannot wait to sample the atmosphere of a west Yorkshire derby when travelling to Leeds to face the Rhinos on Thursday night.

The 22-year-old, signed for the Bulls from his home town club St Helens in the off-season, and admitted he hugely enjoyed the highly-charged Saints-Wigan derby encounters after making his Super League debut in 2010.

Foster spent the latter part of last season on loan at Hull, where he was able to improve an impressive points scoring record in the local fixtures against Kingston Rovers.

"For me the biggest game is obviously the Saints-Wigan derby," Foster told Bradford's Telegraph and Argus.

"I started going to watch that fixture with my gran and grandad as a five-year-old.

"If you go around Hull and try and tell people about the Wigan-Saints derby they don't want to know. It's the same if you go around St Helens or Wigan and talk about a Leeds-Bradford derby."

"Then all of a sudden I was walking out to actually play in the games and reading about myself in the match-day programme.

"It was massive and just unbelievable to play for Saints in front of 25,000 fans at the DW Stadium.

"I think some of the performances I gave in those games make it special for me because I scored some good tries and points that helped us to beat Wigan after being man of the match.

"But if you asked me on Thursday night what the biggest game in Super League is - and I've just picked up a bottle of champagne - I'll probably be saying something different."
