Alun-Wyn Jones: Could replace Ryan Jones as Wales captain

Assistant coach Robin McBryde has suggested that Wales will make a decision on Thursday about who will replace Ryan Jones as skipper against England.

Jones will miss Saturday's Six Nations title decider in Cardiff with a shoulder injury and McBryde admits the captaincy is 'up for discussion'.

Alun-Wyn Jones is thought be a front-runner to take the armband as Wales attempt to successfully defend the Six Nations title and ruin England's bid for a Grand Slam.

Sam Warburton skippered the side until injury ruled him out of the win over France and he could regain leadership duties, while Gethin Jenkins is also another possible contender.

Wales boss Rob Howley may even name a third different captain of the campaign and McBryde gave little away when asked about Jones' replacement.

"That will be up for discussion," he said.

"There are quite a few sore bodies at this stage after Saturday, and we are not under any pressure to make any decisions at the moment.

"We will take our time and make sure the decisions are right in order to get things spot-on for Saturday.

"We are in a good place. Those decisions will come on Thursday."
