Manager Dean Saunders says Wolves are waiting on several Premier League clubs to see if they will allow any players out on loan before the end of the month.

Saunders is still hoping to add a temporary signing to his Championship strugglers, and insisted the club's owners were keeping tabs on a variety of targets as the emergency deadline nears on 28 March.

He told Wolves' club website: "There are a couple of teams who aren't prepared to let the players go who we want until they get another point or that type of thing.

"We're in talks with three or four Premier League clubs now - that's what we're trying to do right now. There's a mixture of people we are looking at.

"We've got a list of players we're trying to get in - it's a case of 'if we can't get him, we'll get him and so on'. We're waiting on that.

"But it's been difficult to get players in because no one wants to let them go."

Saunders is also not expecting any of his own senior players to depart on loan before the window shuts, preferring to keep everyone at the club should they be needed over the run-in.

"We've got to the point now where unless a player is a million miles away from the team, I don't think we should be loaning anyone out now," the Welshman added.

"But I'm still looking at maybe getting one or two in - I'm trying my best to make that happen."
