Jonathan Sexton and Craig Gilroy will be available for Ireland's final RBS Six Nations game of the season against Italy at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome on Saturday.

Ulster wing Gilroy missed the 13-13 draw with France with a groin injury and Leinster fly-half Sexton has missed the last two matches with a hamstring problem.

Sexton was hurt in the 12-6 defeat at home to England.

Uncapped Ulster scrum-half Paul Marshall has been called up the squad in place of Leinster's Eoin Reddan, who fractured his leg in the clash with France.

Ireland are still waiting on the fitness of centres Brian O'Driscoll and Luke Marshall ahead of the Rome trip and have delayed naming their team until Thursday.

Marshall suffered concussion against Les Bleus and O'Driscoll had stitches to a wound in his ear, and also suffered a dead leg and concussion against the French.

Ireland lock Donnacha Ryan's took a blow to his shoulder and he will need monitoring this week.

Reddan will undergo surgery on Monday and will be out of action for between three and four months.
