Louise Damen claimed victory in the McCain World Cross Trials

Louise Damen claimed victory in the McCain World Cross Trials on Saturday, with the World Cross Country Championships within her sights.
The Hampshire athlete finished eight seconds ahead of Elle Baker at Birmingham's Cofton Park trials, finishing the eight kilometre race in a time of 26 minutes, 58 seconds.
Damen, who looks set to make the British team for the World Championships in Poland later this month, said: "I didn't feel good at all today and didn't think I had the legs but luckily I had a little bit of strength at the end to pull me through to hang on."
Seven-time Inter-Counties champion Emelia Gorecka claimed yet another junior title as she won the Under-20 race.
