John Hastings: Australian all-rounder heading for Sussex
Sussex have signed Australia all-rounder John Hastings as their second overseas player for this summer's Friends Life t20.
The 27-year-old, who bowls right-arm fast-medium, has played three Twenty20 internationals and 11 one-day internationals for Australia, and made his only Test appearance so far against South Africa in November last year.
He recently featured for Australia A in the unofficial one-day series against England Lions after playing for Melbourne Stars in the Big Bash League.
Sussex cricket manager Mark Robinson said: "John is a skilful bowler and a hard-hitting lower-order batter.
Perfect
"Both Matt Prior and Luke Wright played with him during the Big Bash and both pushed hard for us to approach John for the competition.
"John should be a perfect fit for the club and we're delighted to have him on board."
Hastings said: "I can't wait for the opportunity to help the team in going one step further this season.
"It has always been a huge goal of mine to play in an English summer, and I couldn't be happier about my upcoming time at Sussex."
Sussex were beaten by Yorkshire in the semi-finals of last year's FL t20 competition.
