Tyson Fury: Has questioned David Price's punch resistance

Tyson Fury insists he was not surprised by David Price's shock knockout defeat by Tony Thompson and has branded his heavyweight rival a 'fraud'.

Price's unbeaten record was ended in dramatic fashion on Saturday night when Thompson floored him with a short right hand in the second round.

The Liverpudlian had made short work of his last few foes and was expected to brush aside 41-year-old Thompson, but Fury believes Price was always going to be susceptible to a stoppage defeat.

Fury dropped Price in the amateurs before losing a points decision and he has reignited their war of words by questioning his punch resistance.

"When I was an 18-year-old novice and he was a 24-year-old fully-fledged amateur international I put him on the seat of his pants in the ring and I knew this would happen because he is a fraud," he told the Daily Express.

Thompson declared after the fight he was willing to face Fury in the future and the 24-year-old admitted on Twitter he was keen to battle the American.

Fury must first get past former cruiserweight champion Steve Cunningham when they meet on 20 April in Madison Square Garden in New York.
