Hull KR's fit-again centre Kris Welham has warned his team-mates against complacency ahead of their clash against the struggling Salford City Reds.

Craig Sandercock's troops registered their first points of the season on Sunday following a 44-18 win over Widnes, six of their tries came inside the opening 40 minutes.

It was Welham's first full game since June 11 last year his return and the 25-year-old felt improved communication on the pitch went a long way to snapping their two-game losing run.

Hull KR are the favourites to make it back-to-back wins against Salford, however, he knows Phil Veivers' side will come good and he is determined that does not happen against the East Yorkshire club.

Switched On

"We were more switched on this week and there was more talking done out on the pitch," he told the Hull Daily Mail.

"There seemed to be more communication and as a result everyone knew what they were doing. The first two weeks hadn't gone according to plan for us and it was frustrating.

"It was a good week in training in the build-up to the game and we put everything right in the first half that was wrong in the first two matches.

"Salford haven't won any of their three games so far but are not far off us in the league, so it should be a good game.

"We won't underestimate them as sooner or later they will win and they will come out looking for it. We have to make sure we are switched on again and that it is not against us."
