Salford forward Shannan McPherson admits Manly duo Vic Mauro and Liam Foran cannot arrive soon enough.

The Reds lost their third straight Super League match of the season to the Leeds Rhinos on Friday night.

But their thin squad could be strengthened by the arrival of the two NRL stars in time to play Hull KR on Sunday and McPherson said that would be a major boost.

"They are two good players and they are coming from a top NRL club with a good reputation and culture," he told the Manchester Evening News.

"It has been very hard of late for all the team but we have just had to try and keep going.

"To see the squad boosted will be a lift for all of us. We could also have Martin Gleeson back in action for our next game which would be another boost."
