Wales have called Ospreys lock Alun Wyn Jones into their Six Nations squad.

The 27-year-old, who has been capped 67 times by Wales, returned to action following a shoulder injury in last Friday's RaboDirect PRO12 win at Ulster.

Jones, who has been out of action since suffering his injury during the autumn series game with Argentina, will join up with the Welsh national squad on Tuesday.

His return is a major boost for Wales, who are without second-rows Bradley Davies and Luke Charteris through injury.

Ospreys' Ian Evans and Newport Gwent Dragons forward Andrew Coombs have featured in the second row for Wales this Six Nations campaign but Jones' return will give interim coach Rob Howley options in his pack.

Having claimed a first win in nine matches against Test playing nations with an impressive victory in France last weekend, the reigning Six nations champions' next fixture is against Italy in Rome on February 23.

Jones made his regional debut for the Ospreys in the 2005/2006 season and was selected for Wales' summer tour to Argentina at the end of that campaign where he made his international debut.

He has gone on to play in two World Cups and was a part of the Wales squad that triumphed in the Six Nations in 2008 and 2012.
