Ireland prop Cian Healy has been cited for allegedly stamping on England's Dan Cole during Sunday's Six Nations clash.

The Leinster loosehead has been cited by the independent Citing Commissioner, Italy's Alberto Recaldini, following the incident at the Aviva Stadium.

The alleged act of foul play is contrary to Law 10.4 (b) and the player's hearing, before an independent Six Nations Disciplinary Committee, will be held in London on Wednesday.

Healy's use of the boot on Cole, a possible team-mate on this summer's British and Irish Lions tour to Australia, occurred in the 14th minute of Sunday's game which sparked off a brawl involving several players.

The recommended suspension for a low end stamping offence is two weeks, the mid-range five weeks and top-end nine weeks, up to a maximum of one year.

England were incensed with the incident and a large maul erupted, although

referee Jerome Garces failed to spot what ignited the flare-up and Healy avoided punishment on the field.

A two-week ban would ruled the 25-year-old out of Ireland's next Six Nations assignment against Scotland on 24 February, while a longer suspension would also threaten his involvement against France and Italy.

England are the the only team in with a shout of the Grand Slam after beating Ireland 12-6 with the help of four penalties from Owen Farrell.

Also appearing before a Six Nations Disciplinary Committee on Wednesday will be Ross Moriarty, the England U20 back-row, sent off for a dangerous tackle in the match with Ireland U20 in Athlone on Friday.
