Huddersfield coach Paul Anderson felt some of his team's play was "pathetic" despite them registering a convincing 34-6 victory over London Broncos.

Hooker Shaun Lunt scored two of his team's six tries for Huddersfield as they made it two wins out of two at the start of the new Super League season.

However, Anderson felt his team failed to reach the high standards they set themselves in last week's impressive 40-4 win at St Helens.

"We were just about or slightly below average and, frankly, some of our play was pathetic," said Anderson. "The way this team is set up is to be direct. But for long periods we decided to play the touchline not the tryline.

"We've got a group of disappointed people in the dressing room after a 34-6 win, which shows where we're at."

In contrast, London Broncos boss Tony Rea was happy with his side's overall performance, but felt that individual errors cost them.

"It was untidy," he said. "There were too many errors and it took a lot of energy out of us. We need to be more careful with our decision-making."

Rea fielded a completely different back-line to the one that featured in last week's defeat by Widnes due to injuries, but he refused to use this as an excuse for Sunday's loss.

"It's a squad game," he said. "The lads out there were more than capable of doing their jobs. And I liked how we were as a team. There were positive signs."
