Elena Baltacha: Former British No 1 hoping to be back in April
Elena Baltacha is hoping to return to action in April after undergoing ankle surgery last year.
Former British No 1 Baltacha had an operation after the London Olympics and has been sidelined ever since, although she was named as a non-playing member of the Great Britain Fed Cup team competing in Israel this week.
The 29-year-old's recuperation is now progressing nicely and she is hoping to return to competition in two months' time.
She said: "The recovery has been going really well. It's my third week on court and I'm hitting really well, working on my condition.
"My ankle seems to be fine, I just need to maintain it.
"Hopefully I will be back in April. Closer to the time I will make a decision."
