England have called Middlesex seamer James Harris into their squad for the Twenty20 internationals with New Zealand.

Harris will act as cover for Surrey paceman Stuart Meaker, who is on the sidelines with a neck strain.

The injury meant Meaker was unable to participate in the first game of England's tour against a New Zealand XI in wet and windy Whangarei.

Harris, who left Glamorgan for Middlesex over the off-season, is in England's squad for the one-day series but will now fly out a little earlier.
