Australia opened up their ICC Women's World Cup challenge with a convincing 91-run rout of Pakistan.

Australia must have feared the worst when they were skittled for just 175 at Barabati Stadium.

However Sarah Coyte, Ellyse Perry, Lisa Sthalekar and Holly Ferling ripped through the Pakistan batting to set up the victory.

Sthalekar (32) and Coyte (35 not out) had also impressed with the bat with some valuable middle order runs, while opener Rachael Haynes top scored with 39.

Sadia Yousuf was the pick of the Pakistan bowlers, taking 3-30.

The Pakistan reply never got going - with only a defiant 43 from Bismah Maroof sparing them further embarrassment. Extras were the next highest contributor of runs with 11, while Nahida Khan (10) was the only other Pakistan player to reach double figures.

Coyte claimed 3-20, while Perry (2-18), Sthalekar (2-19) and Ferling (2-10) claimed two wickets apiece to dismiss Pakistan for 84.
