A sensational display from Carmelo Anthony helped the New York Knicks clinch victory over the Atlanta Hawks.

The starting forward weighed in with 42 points in a 106-104 win, including the game-winning lay-up and free throw with 12 seconds remaining.

Atlantic Division rivals the Boston Celtics recorded their first win in seven attempts but only after two periods of overtime against the Miami Heat.

The Detroit Pistons overcame the Orlando Magic 104-102, with Brandon Knight and JJ Redick each scoring 31 points for the respective teams.
