Andrea Stramaccioni: Inter Milan coach keen on signing the right players
Inter Milan coach Andrea Stramaccioni is hoping that any 'painful' sales will be balanced out by new arrivals before the close of the transfer window.
Wesley Sneijder has already left Inter this month to join Galatasaray and Philippe Coutinho is expected to finalise a move to Liverpool before Thursday's deadline.
Stramaccioni has discussed the situation with Massimo Moratti and he has faith that the Inter president will help to bring in new signings if required.
"I've met president Moratti," Stramaccioni told reporters. "We have the same aims. Both of us, we want to let Inter grow and improve.
"From now until January 31st, I have plenty of faith in him and in our officials. The aim is to improve the team.
"As for new arrivals, there is the need to sign players of an important level. I don't need players to only make up the numbers.
"Any painful sales we might make are entirely dependent on the arrival of other important players who can improve Inter. I use the word 'painful' because it would mean letting go of someone that I'm fond of and who started this project with us.
"You have to make choices: if we think it will improve Inter, we'll do it. If not, we won't. And regardless of who we have here on February 1st, we'll fight to the very end."
