Jamie Donaldson has moved up to a career-high 29th in the world rankings following his victory in the Abu Dhabi Championship.

The 37-year-old Welshman, who won by a stroke at the Abu Dhabi golf club, has leapt 18 places.

England's Justin Rose and Dane Thorbjorn Olesen, both of whom missed birdie chances to force a play-off on Sunday, are fourth and 42nd in the rankings respectively.

Northern Ireland's Rory McIlroy and American Tiger Woods stay first and second despite both missing the cut in the Middle East.

Luke Donald (3rd) and Lee Westwood (7th) are the other two Englishmen in the top 10, with fellow Brits Ian Poulter and Graeme McDowell 13th and 17th respectively.

American Brian Gay, who claimed victory at the Humana Challenge in California after a play-off with compatriot Charles Howell and Swede David Lingmerth, leaps from 296th to 116th in the new rankings.
