Marcel Hirscher: Back on top of the podium
Marcel Hirscher hit back from eighth place at halfway to win the World Cup slalom in Adelboden.
The Austrian was 0.87 seconds behind Italian Manuel Moelgg after the first descent but nailed the afternoon run to record a comfortable win.
It meant all the more to Hirscher after he blew Saturday's giant slalom on the same hill when victory was his for the taking.
The final analysis saw him complete in a combined time of one minute 51.75 seconds, 0.30secs ahead of countryman Mario Matt with Moelgg settling for third ahead of Ivica Kostelic.
"I was comfortable on the first run but I made a mistake near the bottom," he said. "It was all or nothing - if you play poker you would say 'all in'."
Hirscher extended his lead in the slalom standings to 134 over Felix Neureuther and to 126 in the overall ahead of Aksel Lund Svindal.
