The Indiana Pacers reinforced their position at the top of the Central Division in the NBA Eastern Conference after an 81-76 home win over the New York Knicks.

Paul George's seven points in a 13-0 fourth-quarter surge sealed the victory as the 22-year-old finished the game with 24 points and 11 rebounds.

The success moves the Pacers to 22-14, four games clear of Chicago, with Frank Vogel's side in top form after sweeping the other two Eastern Conference division leaders - Miami and the Knicks - this week.

The Knicks had to depend on JR Smith's 25 points to stay competitive, with Mike Woodson's side missing the suspended Carmelo Anthony.

The Sacramento Kings rallied from 17 points down to force overtime against the Dallas Mavericks before losing 117-112.

OJ Mayo finished with 24 points and 10 rebounds for Dallas while Vince Carter had 23 points off the bench as Rick Carlisle's side broke a four-match losing streak.

DeMarcus Cousins was the Kings' top performer with 29 points and nine rebounds before getting ejected in overtime for elbowing Carter in the face.

Elsewhere, a three-pointer from Wesley Matthews with 26.9 seconds left saw Portland to a 92-90 victory over the Miami Heat for their fourth straight win.

Miami were 52-39 ahead at the halfway stage but Portland battled back and were thankful that LaMarcus Aldridge missed two three throws with 10 seconds left.
