Motherwell manager Stuart McCall has insisted none of his star players will be leaving on cut-price deals in January.

Winger Jamie Murphy and striker Henrik Ojamaa have reportedly drawn interest from Sheffield United and Poland's Lech Poznan respectively, and Motherwell also have a number of players in the last year of their contracts at the club.

Motherwell have enjoyed a strong start to the Scottish Premier League season, currently sitting in second place behind leaders Celtic, and McCall insists that the Fir Park club will only sell players if the price is right.

"The fact a lot of boys are nearing the end of their deals means whoever comes in for them in January won't offer what we value them at," McCall said in the Daily Record.

"In my first week in the job I lost Mark Reynolds for £100,000 to Sheffield Wednesday and Nick Blackman went back to Blackburn so I know what it's like. If someone comes in with an acceptable offer we'll look at it."

McCall has also warned any players considering a move away to consider the situations of other players who have moved from the SPL before risking their careers.

He said: "I look at the likes of David Goodwillie and Chris Maguire and it's not always the best idea to go down south and be stuck in the reserves."

Goodwillie has made just 26 appearances since moving from Dundee United to Blackburn, whilst Maguire has played just 20 times, including just 13 starts at a number of clubs since opting for a move to Derby County from Kilmarnock in 2011.
