Bennett: Eyeing full fitness

Doncaster winger Kyle Bennett has admitted he was not fully fit for Rovers' stalemate at Swindon on Saturday.

The 1-1 draw at the County Ground marked the 22-year-old's comeback from a six-week lay-off with a knee ligament injury, which came two weeks ahead of schedule.

Bennett, who revealed he had been receiving painkilling injections on his troublesome knee in the run up to the game, insists he will be fully fit when Coventry visit the Keepmoat this weekend.

"I will have had a full weeks' training by the time we play them on Saturday so I should be there or thereabouts by then," he told The Sheffield Star.

"I had only trained twice with the team, Thursday and Friday, after six weeks out with a knee ligament injury so I was probably only 90 per cent fit against Swindon," he said. "I'd also had a couple of injections in the joint during the week.

"I thought I did okay on Saturday, especially early on, but I was probably ready to come off when the manager substituted me just before the hour mark.

"But it was good to be back because it has been frustrating being out as I like to play every game that I can and help out the team."
