Stuart Broad is an injury doubt for England's fourth and final Test against India in Nagpur after he suffered a recurrence of a heel injury.

Broad limped out of England's net session on Tuesday with the 26-year-old sent for a scan on his left heel.

Broad had suffered bruising to the same area in England's second tour match, forcing him to sit out the final warm-up game against Haryana in Ahmedabad.

A statement from the ECB on their official Twitter feed read: "Stuart Broad has gone for a scan on his heel. There will be a further update later today."

Broad had sat out the third Test victory after being dropped in favour of Steven Finn.

And although he was facing a fight to reclaim his Test place, as Twenty20 captain Broad still has a vital role to play in the tour.

England are due to play T20 matches on December 20 and 22 before Christmas, while they then have two limited overs warm-up games and five ODIs in January.
