Leicester Tigers have suspended Brett Deacon following an internal disciplinary hearing held after the forward was sent off at the weekend.

Deacon was sent off against Bath on Saturday after striking an opponent at Welford Road.

And the Tigers have now suspended Deacon for one week and a statement on the club website read: "Brett has been banned for seven days.

"He will miss the Heineken Cup Round 3 match against Benetton Treviso this weekend.

"Brett regrets his actions which left his team with 14 men during the second half of a vital club match."
